Independent Women's Football League Week 7 Power Rankings

The Houston Energy pick up a big divisional win against the Tulsa Threat

Oh how the mighty have fallen. This week in the Independent Women's Football League the top teams in the league separated themselves from the lower tier. The Utah Falconz displayed their dominance against the Carson Bobcats in a rematch of last years championship game. The loss continues the struggles for the Bobcats this year who drop to 0-4 on the season. The Austin Yellow Jackets found themselves in a thriller against the Carolina Queens but managed to squeak out the win.

Week 7 Results:

San Antonio Regulators > S. Texas Lady Crushers 38-0

Utah Falconz > Carson Bobcats 47-6

Houston Energy > Tulsa Threat 37-7

Austin Yellow Jackets > Carolina Queens 12-6

North County Stars > Nevada Storm 38-8

In an affiliate division matchup, the San Antonio Regulators took down the South Texas Lady Crushers to get back to .500 on the season. South Texas has struggled this season going 0-4 while not scoring a single point. In the MyWSports Game of the Week, the Houston Energy picked up a big divisional win over Tulsa to improve to 2-0 over their divisional foe this season. Houston is now 4-1 on the year with their lone loss coming against division leader, the 5-0 Austin Yellow Jackets.

The MyWSports Team of the Week: Carolina Queens (0-2)

This might be a first but sometimes you have to shoutout a great performance and going into week 7, I don't think anyone (myself included) gave the Queens any chance in this game against the Austin Yellow Jackets. The Carolina defense showed up and in this close game took one of the best teams in the league to the wire. Austin improved to 5-0 but this week we have to give credit to the Queens for coming ready to play.

The MyWSports Game of the Week to Watch:

#1 Utah Falconz (4-0) vs. # 3 Sacramento Sirens (4-1)

In the biggest matchup of the season, the undefeated Utah Falconz take a trip to Sacramento to tae on the one-loss Sirens. Utah has an incredible defense and a very explosive offense as we have season throughout the season. The Sirens have gone 2-0 since their week 4 loss to Utah and will be looking for some redemption after being shutdown 38-0. This could be a potential championship preview so grab your popcorn and catch game coverage on Twitter @MyWSports.
