Independent Women's Football League Week 6 Power Rankings

The Utah Falconz continue to roll in the 2017 season

As we approach week seven, the midway point of the IWFL season, the contenders have separated themselves from the pretenders. It's no surprise the Utah Falconz have dominated thus far this season, the defending champions are unbeaten and haven't been contested much. The Carson Bobcats, the national runner-up from a year ago, have struggled this season and are winless in their first three games of the season. Anything can happen in the game of football and with seven more weeks left there will be some key match ups to watch out for.

Week 6 Results:

Sacramento Sirens > Carson Bobcats 41-14

Utah Falconz > Nevada Storm 40-0 Houston Energy > S. Texas Lady Crushers (forfeit) Iowa Crush > Knoxville Lightning 26-20

North County Stars > Phoenix Phantomz 7-0

Tulsa Threat > Colorado Freeze 19-12

The Iowa Crush played an incredible game, going into Knoxville and holding off the Lightning late in the fourth to preserve the win. The Sacramento Sirens and Utah Falconz earned blowout wins this past weekend and are on a collision course for and epic week eight matchup. The Tulsa Threat picked up a close win against the Colorado Freeze to bring them to .500 on the season. In the MyWSports Game of the Week, the North County Stars defense showed up huge against the Phoenix Phantomz, shutting out them out in a low scoring 7-0 victory for the Stars.

The MyWSports Team of the Week: Iowa Crush (1-0)

In their first game of the season, the Iowa Crush held off a feisty Knoxville Lightning team to earn their first win of the year. The affiliate division doesn't get much love but when they play each other the games are quite entertaining. This proved that this weekend, and as the schedule picks up we will bare witness to more great affiliate division match ups.

The MyWSports Game of the Week to Watch:

#7 Tulsa Threat (2-2) vs. #4 Houston Energy (3-1) - (Week 2: Energy > Threat 26-0)

The Houston Energy were benefactors of a forfeit and had an extra week to prepare for this matchup while the Tulsa Threat earned a 19-12 victory over the Colorado Freeze in week six. The Energy will be riding high on confidence, coming into the game 3-1 and already have beaten the Threat 26-0 in week two of this season. Houston looks like a team prime to compete for a playoff spot but Tulsa can pull off a big conference win and move into second in the Central Division with a win.
