Independent Women's Football League Week 5 Power Rankings
The Carson Bobcats dropped to 0-2 with a loss on Saturday to the Phoenix Phantomz
Another monster weekend of Independent Women's Football League (IWFL) action did not disappoint, with four match ups on the schedule and the results causing a bit of a shake-up in the MyWSports Top-10 Power Rankings.
Week 3 Results:
Phoenix Phantomz def. Carson Bobcats 12-10
Houston Energy def. San Antonio Regulators 32-18
Sacramento Sirens def. North County Stars 48-6
Austin Yellow Jackets def. Tulsa Threat 38-0
There is no new No.1 this week but we have had some teams move up or down a few spots in this weeks power rankings. The Phoenix Phantomz played an incredible game while the Carson Bobcats have struggled to find their offense this season. The Sacramento Sirens pulled off a blowout win against the North County Stars, in our MyWSports Game of the Week, which to be honest I did not see coming but that's why we watch and love football.
The MyWSports Team of the Week: Sacramento Sirens (3-1)
In weeks one and three, the Sacramento Sirens put together two great performances which had the team sitting at 2-0 and atop the Pacific Division. The team outscored it's opponents 70-18 and looked primed to compete against the defending champion, Utah Falconz in week four. Unfortunately, Utah's defense proved to be too much in that contest as the Falconz handed the Sirens their first loss of the season.
Heading into week five, Sacramento returned home and welcomed the North County Stars. The Stars came into the week at #3 in last weeks power rankings while the Sirens right on their tail at #4. An offensive outburst combined with key defensive plays led to a 48-6 blowout win against North County. The Sirens sit at 3-1 and will head to face the Carson Bobcats this Saturday.
The MyWSports Game of the Week to Watch:
Last week we highlighted the struggles of the Phoenix Phantomz and how they have looked to right the ship after starting 0-2, well they have now won their last two games to bring them up to .500 on the young season. The North County Stars had a big win against the Carson Bobcats to start the season but had a disappointing second game where they allowed 48 points. Both teams need a win and it will be a crucial battle for positioning in the Pacific Southwest Division. Catch game coverage on Twitter @MyWSports.
