Independent Women's Football League Week 3 Power Rankings

Five games on the Independent Women's Football League schedule this past weekend so we got to see a bunch of teams in action. Some new and some old but this was a pretty interesting week in the IWFL.

The Utah Falconz have been a dominating presence in the league in the last two years, with a championship to defend this season. Utah came out with an offensive outburst, the Falconz earned a 57-0 win over the Phoenix Phantomz. The Sacramento Sirens improved to 2-0 with a 49 point shutout of the Nevada Storm and the Austin Yellow Jackets also improved to 2-0 with a 50-6 win over the Carolina Queens.

Last week we had the Carson Bobcats visiting the North County Stars as the MyWSports game of the week. This was hands down the best game of the week and by far the closest. North County pulled off a big win to start the season.

The MyWSports Team of the Week: North County Stars (1-0)

North County came into the season with a big game to start the year, the Carson Bobcats were a solid team and fell just short of a title last season. The Stars proved they could hang with the top teams in the IWFL and should be on your radar throughout the season. IF the defense can play as well as they did against Carson they could have a very successful season. The Stars play Carson and Utah in back to back weeks later in the season and those should be some very telling games.

The MyWSports Game of the Week to Watch is the Austin Yellow Jackets vs. the Houston Energy this Saturday. Austin (2-0) has outscored opponents 120 to 6 in their first two games, the most in the league. This will be a Central Division matchup against Houston who improved to 1-0 with a 26-0 win in week two over the Tulsa Threat. This matchup can display a lot, the growth of Houston, a potential dominating run for Austin, and who knows maybe a revival of an amazing Houston vs. Austin rivalry.
