Boston Pride Pick Up Where They Left Off

Boston, MA - The Boston Pride returned from All-Star weekend and picked up right where they left off, extending their winning streak to 24 straight games. The Pride got scores from Lexi Bender, Meghan Duggan and Hilary Knight to earn the victory over the Buffalo Beauts.

After 20 minutes of play, the score was tied at one after Benders score in the first five minutes, Emily Janiga equalized the game for the Beauts. Boston outshot Buffalo 12-3 in the first period and continued to pour on the shots in the second and third. Buffalo struggled offensively, and failed to convert on the power play, going 0-5 on the night.

The sold out crowd at Warrior Ice Arena in Boston got loud after the second period goal by Duggan to give the Pride a 2-1 lead. Lauren Slebodnick got the start in net for Boston and did not disappoint, making 23 saves on 24 shots by Buffalo. In the second period the Pride were given three penalties and the Beauts put 12 shots on net all of which Slebodnick turned away with ease.

In the third period, Knight provided the insurance goal with under 10 minutes to play in regulation. The win improves the Prides record to 13-0-0 in the season while Buffalo falls to 5-8-1.

Boston will host an NWHL Semi final game against the #4 seed on Thursday March 16, 2017 at Warrior Ice Arena.
