Anne Schleper Retires From National Women's Hockey League
After 24 years of hockey, defenseman, Anne Schleper is hanging up the skates from the U.S national team and her current professional league team, the Buffalo Beauts.
In her 68 game international career, Schleper helped guide team USA to four first place finishes at the Four Nations Cup, three World Championships, and a silver medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Anne, is also a 2012 graduate of the University of Minnesota where she also finished her senior season with a national championship and with 114 career points. Following her collegiate success, Schleper joined the Boston Blades in 2012-13 then went back to Minnesota to play with the Whitecaps last season.
This year the Minnesota native signed a contract to play with the Buffalo Beauts. She played six games and notched just one point on an assist this season.
