WFA Conference Championship Recap
DC Divas are heading back to Championship (DC Divas/Facebook)
TIER I - Conference Championship
DC Divas 47, Boston Renegades 21
The Boston Renegades were within 17 seconds of beating the DC Divas during the regular season. The Renegades, even without star Quarterback Allison Cahill, the Renegades came off of a big victory over the Chicago Force and had momentum on their side. That’s exactly how this game started with Boston seizing the momentum and leading at the end of the first quarter 7-0 from a Chantel Bonds touchdown run. The Renegades would give up a Hamlin to Whisonant touchdown pass early in the second quarter, but answered quickly with another touchdown run, this time by Whitney Zelee to regain the lead, 14-7. The Divas powerful offense scored 3 unanswered touchdowns to take the lead for good. Zelee would add 1 more touchdown for the Renegades, but the Divas would end the game on another 3 touchdown run to win their second straight National Conference Championship. Allyson Hamlin led the way for the Divas with 3 passing and 2 rushing touchdowns.
