WFA Top 10 Power Rankings Week 7
Boston Renegades Snap Pittsburgh's Undefeated Streak
The Women’s Football Alliance, week after week gives us thrilling finishes, amazing upsets and outstanding performances, week 7 was no different. The closer we get to the end of the season, the more we learn about the top teams. In week 7 we saw the undefeated Pittsburgh Passion fall and the hot Pacific Warriors roll again.
In our MyWSports Game of the Week, the #8 Boston Renegades drove down to Pittsburgh to take on the #1 Passion. The Renegades proved they are a complete team trouncing the Passion 51-32. The Renegades were led by legendary Quarterback Allison Cahill, with the win, Cahill notched her 100th career win, the first Quarterback to reach the 100 win milestone in Women’s Tackle Football. Cahill was 35-43 for 373 yards and 5 total (4 passing, 1 rushing) touchdowns. The Renegades are 17 seconds away from being undefeated and arguably the best in the WFA. The Renegade Receivers Emily Beinecke and Emily Weinberg have been great targets for Cahill all year. The Passion were led by Running Back Tara Catone who ran for 135 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Dallas Elite moved up to the top spot in the rankings, even though they got a win by forfeit. Central Cal and Portland remained undefeated and moved up to the #2 and #4 rankings, respectively. Week 8 is another week with many interesting matchups. The Alabama Fire will seek redemption as they get another shot at the Atlanta Phoenix. The Arlington Impact have been an up and down team this year, although the Dallas Elite should win the game, it’s important for Arlington to make an impact in the game. The Pacific Warriors crack our MyWSports Top 10 and head to play the struggling Sin City Trojans. The Trojans started the season hot, but have cooled off with 3 straight losses. It is important for Pacific to show their dominance over Sin City before their Week 10 rematch with the Central Cal War Angels.
The MyWSports Player of the Week goes to the Boston Renegades’ Quarterback Allison Cahill. Her 100th win is an outstanding feat that not only shows Cahill’s dominance, but also her longevity. Cahill was fabulous in the win as well with an unbelievable 35-43 passing for 373 yards.
The MyWSports Game of the Week to Watch: Two weeks ago, we highlighted the Chicago Force devastating, last second loss to the DC Divas. Last week, we featured the Boston Renegades who ended the 27 game winning streak for the Pittsburgh Passion. So it makes sense that the MyWSports Game of the Week to Watch is the #5 Boston Renegades hosting the #8 Chicago Force. Both teams lost to the Divas in the final seconds and one team will set themselves ahead of the other heading late into the season. This is a critical win for both teams, one team will become a 2 loss team with the Renegades heading to play the Divas again and the Force hosting the Passion both in week 10.
