Stuttgart, Germany - Angelique Kerber defended her Porsche Grand Prix title with a dominant 6-4, 6-0 win against Laura Siegemund in Sunday's final. Kerber won the 2015 title and made her way back to the final against Siegemund.

The match did not start as Kerber might have liked, falling early to Siegemund 3-0, but Kerber quickly regained her composure and stormed back to take the lead and never looked back. Kerber would take the first set 6-4, after forcing her opponent into numerous unforced errors. The 2016 Australian Open champion started the second set with a break and continued to display her dominance taking the second 6-0. The win was the ninth of her career and second consecutive at the Porsche Grand Prix.

Kerber said to the press, "It doesn't get any better. I needed a bit of time to find my rhythm and I'm happy I managed it in the end…”

The win will keep her steady in the rankings, in one of the best years of her career
