We are now three weeks into the 2016 season for the Independent Women’s Football League and we have seen newcomers make statements and the powerhouses remain dominant. Going into week three we want to keep track of the top teams in the IWFL, there have been plenty of offensive showcases and some defensive battles as well. In the first two weeks we saw the Carson Bobcats defeat the Sacramento Sirens and the Utah Falconz continue their dominance and scored 72 in their home opener. The Falconz along with the Woodland Wildcats are the only teams to score over 100 points in the first two games of the year.
The Madison Blaze and Carolina Phoenix remained undefeated as well with big wins in week three. The game to watch this past week was the Washington Prodigy defeating the Baltimore Nighthawks 14-0. Baltimore had plenty of opportunities but the Prodigy defense played well to slow down the attack. Washington will host the New York Sharks in week 4.
The MyWSports Team of the Week: Woodlands Wildcats already 2-0 in their inaugural season and are second in the league in scoring offense and top 10 in scoring defense. Watch out for this team
The MyWSports Game of the Week to Watch is the New York Sharks (2-0) visiting the Washington Prodigy (1-0). The Sharks have been one of the best offensive and Defensive teams in the first few weeks. Washington shutout Baltimore, 14-0 in their lone win on the year… who will remain unbeaten?
