This Weeks Women's College Basketball Recap.

Florida Hands #12 Kentucky Another Upset (Aaron Albright/ Alligator Staff)
Thursdays have been known for upsets this season in Women’s College Basketball. We were blessed with great games on the schedule Thursday night, however, the top teams would take care of business. #7 Ohio State rallied from behind to beat Big Ten rival Northwestern. #10 Texas A&M was tied with Alabama heading into the 4th Quarter, but scored the last nine points to hold off the Crimson Tide. The lone upset on the day was Vanderbilt knocking off #12 Kentucky.
The SEC is proving to be the toughest conference to play in. Heading into league play six teams had 0 or 1 loss on the season. Nine games later, South Carolina is undefeated, every other team has at least 3 losses in league play and the last place Alabama is 2-7 in the league, but still 13-9 overall. Top 25 teams like #10 Texas A&M and #12 Kentucky, are very solid teams, but have 3 losses and 5 losses respectively in the SEC.
Friday saw lots of Pac 12 action with a great game between #16 Stanford and #25 Washington. Lili Thompson had a week to remember and scored 27 points for Stanford to lead them to a 69-53 win. The lone upset was #23 DePaul who has continued to be streaky this year, dropping an 83-74 game to Seton Hall. Seton Hall is a respectable 17-4 on the season and should be getting some Top 25 consideration soon.
Saturday has been known as the day for college basketball, but with the distances of member schools in leagues being greater, more schools are playing Thursday or Friday, then Sunday. It does give us more basketball on Sundays, however Saturdays are a little lighter. On Saturday UConn continued to winning, beating Memphis, #4 Baylor beat #24 West Virginia, and #5 Maryland dominated Indiana.
On Sunday #2 South Carolina trailed #10 Texas A&M by 6 at the half, but a 27 point effort from A’ja Wilson kept the Gamecocks undefeated. 18-4 Florida knocked off #12 Kentucky 85-79. #23 DePaul got back to its winning ways, defeating St. John’s.
