Serena Williams gave the world another reminder of her dominance in tennis with a 6-0, 6-4 win in the Australian Open semifinals against Agnieszka Radwanska.
Angelique Kerber, the world #6, is onto her first Grand Slam final and set to face Serena Williams on Saturday for the Australian Open title after beating Johanna Konta in the semifinals, 7-5, 6-2.
Six-time champion Williams has never lost a semifinal or final at the Australian Open but Kerber is attempting to be the first German woman to win the tournament since Steffi Graf did so in 1994.
Despite her 21 major titles and all her success, it is a loss that is inspiring Williams in this tournament. She was two wins away from a calendar year Grand Slam in 2015 when she lost to Roberta Vinci in the U.S. Open semifinals.
“Physically I’m feeling a lot better, mentally I needed that break after the Open,” she said, but “I didn’t think I would do this well this fast.

Williams has dropped only 26 games in six rounds in this dominating run. Kerber will have her hands full on Saturday in the Australian Open final.
Williams is 5-1 head-to-head against Kerber, the one win for Kerber coming in the Cincinnati quarterfinal in 2012, 6-4, 6-4. They’ve met four times since, Williams winning all of them, including a tight Stanford final in 2014, their most recent encounter, 7-6(1), 6-3.
